Materials
A.
Hacker Sound-Mat by Hacker Industries, Inc.
B. Hacker Floor Primer
C. Hacker Floor Underlayments.
PART
III EXECUTION
3.1
Condition of Subfloor
A.
Subfloor must be structurally sound (L/360), broom cleaned,
and free of oil, grease or other contaminants.
B. All cracks and voids should be filled with a
quick setting taping compound to prevent leakage.
C. Before installation, General Contractor shall
inspect and approve the condition of the subfloor.
3.2
Priming
A.
Before installation of the Hacker Sound-Mat, spray the
substrate with an approved Hacker Floor Primer (diluted
2:1 with water). Spray the primer just before installation
of the Hacker Sound-Mat so that the primer is wet when
the mat is rolled onto the substrata.
Note:
Hacker Sound-Mat will not bond to dry primer; the primer
needs to be wet to ensure the bond.
3.3
Mat Application
A.
Hacker Sound-Mat should be rolled up the walls at least
1/4" (approx. 6mm) higher than the pour line to create
a sound isolation break between the underlayment and the
wall. Tape can be used to hold Hacker Sound-Mat up against
the wall. Hacker Sound-Mat must be installed properly
so that no underlayment touches the walls, floor, or other
objects attached to the subfloor. Tape can be used in
the corners and around other obstacles. All seams must
be taped.
3.4
Underlayment Application
A.
Spray a coat of Hacker Floor Primer (diluted 2:1 with
water) at a rate of 400 sq. ft. per gallon over the Hacker
Sound-Mata prior to the underlayment application.
B. A 1-1/2" (approx 38mm) mini- mum application
of either Firm-Fill 2010, Firm-Fill High Strength, or
GYP-Span Radiant must be installed over the Hacker Sound-Mat
according to Hacker Specifications (see applicable literature
for specifications).
C. The Hacker Sound-mat should be trimmed flush
with the Hacker Floor Underlayment after it is set.
APPLICATION
NOTES:
Extreme
care must be taken when rolling out the hose so that the
Hacker Sound-Mat is not torn. Do not wear spiked shoes.
Do not use nails to gauge materials depths.
The Hacker Floor Underlayment should be installed with a
tight slump to minimize the drying time.
Do not puncture the Hacker Sound- Mat with any metal fasteners
or other metal equipment: metal punctures may cause neutralization
of Hacker Sound-Mat's acoustical properties.
